Meet the Team: Jeff Schuch, Senior Project Manager

As Senior Project Manager at Kingsway Group, Jeff Schuch plays a crucial role in the successful delivery of ligature-resistant projects throughout the United States. We caught up with Jeff to find out more about him and his role!

Hello Jeff, great to have you with us today and welcome to the Kingsway blog! Can you tell us a bit about your background and how it led to your role at Kingsway?

I was an account manager in the Door, Frames & Hardware sector for the past 8 years and learned about the sales side of things before moving into more of a Project Manager roll. Along the way, I realized I was always excited about how all the mechanical components came together. I truly enjoy working directly with ownership during the project.

The role as Senior Project Manager at Kingsway presents an opportunity for me to build upon my past successes and contribute my skills and knowledge to make a significant impact in behavioral heath.

As Senior Project Manager at Kingsway Group, you play a crucial role in specialist ligature-resistant projects across the US. What does a typical day look like for you in your role as PM?

Like most of us, my day generally starts with emails, emails, and more emails. I find my day fills up rather quicky being involved with so many moving parts of the company. From meetings to phone conversations to helping my team work through daily tasks. My role also involves a fair amount of traveling, meeting with our partners in the field, going through their projects and understanding their needs to ensure a successful project.

What regions do you cover within your role and what projects have you worked on recently?

At Kingsway, my role covers the entire US. My first ground-up project was Sarasota Memorial Hospital’s Behavioral Health Pavilion located on the Gulf side of FL. SMH’s Inpatient Behavioral Health programs provide short-term, intensive psychiatric treatment for adults, adolescents, and children. The programs combine advanced medical practice, with services ranging from confidential mental health assessments to individual, group, and family therapy. It was a fantastic project to be part of with Kingsway’s doorsets being selected to reduce risk and improve safety in the state-of-the-art facility.

Which members of the Kingsway team do you work most closely with on a day-to-day basis?

I need input from the entire team daily. Teamwork plays a critical role in achieving project success. By working together we share ideas, identify and solve problems, and offer support to one another continuously.

Which one(s) of our three core values (Happy Customers, Winning Team, and Perfect Products) are most closely aligned to your role?

Happy Customers are the key to the success of the organization and to us making a positive impact on safety standards within behavioral healthcare. Maintaining good relationships with customers has so many positive benefits. But it all starts with understanding their needs; when you know your customers needs, you know how to help them and how to deliver the best results for them. This aspect in particular is crucial to my role.

What is the most rewarding part of your role for you personally?

There is nothing more satisfying than when a project you’ve been working on for an extended period has been completed successfully. To see it all come together after months, or even years, of targets, deadlines, and meetings, knowing all what has gone in by the entire team is so rewarding.

Thanks for chatting with us today, Jeff! To round off, what are your main interests and passions outside of work?

Outside of work I enjoy watching my favorite TV shows, spending time with friends and family or working on a personal project around the house.
